Cascade Poetry Festival Info from Paul

From Paul
The 7th Cascadia Poetry Festival was held at the Subud House October 6-8, 2023. It was produced by the Cascadia Poetics Lab, founded in 1993 by longtime Subud member Paul Nelson.
The event featured many internationally-known poets, Brenda Hillman of Berkeley, California, Robert Bringhurst and Jan Zwicky of Quadra Island, British Columbia, Cedar Sigo of Poulsbo and the Suquamish Tribe, Tess Gallagher of Port Angeles and Andrew Schelling of Boulder, Colorado. Readings, workshops, a tour and reading in Kubota Garden and talks like Eco-Poetics and Bioregional Typography were offered to attendees. The house was full for almost every event. The festival was also the official launch of Cascadian Zen: Volume I, Bioregional Writings on Casacadia Here and Now. Co-edited by Nelson, Jason Wirth and Subud member Adelia MacWilliam of Cowichan Bay, BC, it is available through Watershed Press, another project of the Cascadia Poetics Lab. The festival’s 8th iteration is set for the Subud House November 1-3, 2024. https://cascadiapoeticslab.org/watershed-press-books/.
