SGS Treasurer Summary Report, December 18

Please Contribute Before 2021 is over
You have 10 days left to make your last-minute donations!  Time is running out ( ͡~ ͜ʖ ͡°). Your donations account for 49% of our group’s needs for building repairs and our donation to our region. They are essential. Thank You!

Future ExpensesProgress on fund raising to repairing the siding on the South side of our building.
Through November members have contributed $5,889 to the repair fund. Combined with $8000 of the income set aside from our iTrips rentals we now have $13,889 saved for that project.  At the dewan meeting on Saturday, we agreed to set aside an additional $5000 in funds we have available in our account toward these efforts. We now need to raise an additional $3,528 in order to have the $22,000 needed for this project. In 2021 we have successfully saved over 84% of the funds needed to reach this goal.  Who will help us get the remaining funds?

Building Repairs Fund
We are grateful for members who already have contributed to this fund – over and above their regular contributions-to this fund. Earmark your checks for any portion of your donation you wish to go to our building fund.

Building Rentals
We had 14 days of rentals in November bringing in rental income of approximately $2,352. This will be deposited in December after the income statement is finalized.

This Month’s Donation Report
The level of giving in November and December was good. Many members gave me checks at the Christmas Party as well. This has helped with the repair fundraising and is appreciated.

We now have donation boxes in both latihan halls should you wish to place your donations there.

Proposals passed by committee at 12/17 meeting
At the Saturday 12/17 dewan meeting, your committee, after reviewing our current bank balance, agreed to the following proposals:

  1. Proposal 1: Propose that we make a one-time donation of $3240 to the region that would make up our reduced contributions from the original $800 committed to before the pandemic.
  2. Proposal 2: Propose to the group at our general meeting 1/9 that we contribute $1,000 to Susila Dharma USA.
  3. Proposal 3: Propose to set aside $5000 of our unallocated funds for the repair work. This would allocate $18,472 allocated to the repair of the building leaving us with only $3,528 left to “raise”.

Please Note: Proposal 2 will be considered by and voted on at our 1/9/22 general meeting.

September Financial Report

September 24, 2021

If You Haven’t Donated – Consider Your Donation a direct donation to Subud PNW

Your committee believes that all members should help contribute to our center and through it to the region.  For those who haven’t yet contributed this year, we’re making the following offer:

Every contribution from anyone who hasn’t contributed this year will go to Subud PNW. These contributions will help Subud PNW to support, among other areas, the following:

– SPNW’s commitment to SUSA and through it to our national cultural wing (SICA) and charity wing (SDUSA)

– SUSA’s contributions to Muhammed Subud Foundation and SDIA and it support of members in need.

Each year SPNW has relied on extra money from our annual kedjiwan gathering at the Menucha Conference Center to support the work of the region. Due to COVID-19 it has not been possible to hold this event for two years.

Our goal for 2021 is to have everyone contribute something toward the upkeep of our center and through it the region. Those who are already contributing monthly have already made their commitment. How about you?

If you give one time, that contribution will go directly to the region. If you can commit to giving monthly, each month a portion of your contribution will go to the region.

Future Expenses – Progress on fund raising to repairing the siding on the South side of our building.

Through September members have contributed $3,010. Combined with $3000 of the income received from our iTrips rentals we now have $6,010 saved for that project.  We now need to raise an additional $15,990 before the project can begin.

Building Repairs Fund

We are grateful for members who already have contributed-over and above their regular contributions-to this fund.

iTrip bookings for the remainder of the year will be able to cover some of our costs, but we anticipate that we will need additional contributions from the members. Earmark these donations for the building fund.

Building Rentals

We had 45 days of rentals in September bringing in rental income of approximately $4,196. This will be deposited in October after the income statement is finalized. From the income received, we will retire the remaining $1,000 of our debt to Subud PNW. We will then add an additional $3,000 to the Building Repairs Fund.

Donations

Donations continued their downward trend. September’s contributions were lowest of 2021. If you missed sending in your contribution in September, please consider increasing your donation in October.

April Financial Summary

SGS Treasurer Summary Report, April 23, 2021

If You Haven’t Donated, Now Is The Time

Your committee appreciates everyone’s financial support. Even though Spring Street Center is able to provide some of our income needs. It is not able to cover all costs. Your donations, on average, cover only 51% of our costs.

Our goal for 2021 is to have everyone contribute something toward the upkeep of our center.  When you give a little bit each month, you become a part of  a membership dedicated to preserving our building for the future. If you have not yet donated this year, please do so! If you need a reason to donate please read the rest of this report. Thank you!

Future Expenses

The extensive wet weather this year allowed water to permeate the window frames on bedrooms 2 & 3 and our small deck on the 2nd floor.  iTrip has been helpful coordinating contractor estimates. We have now engaged Absolute Rot Repair Inc. to repair the damage in both areas.  Their estimate for repairing both areas is $20,919. The work has now begun.

In this month’s Subud PNW meeting – as previously reported – Jim O’Halloran was able to secure a commitment to a loan of $10,000 from the SPNW housing fund, which the group will have to repay. I had set aside $10,000 of our savings for these repairs. We also have approximately $4,990 iTrips was holding in escrow to assist in payment.

If the actual work to complete the repairs does not exceed Absolute’s estimate, and we draw on the loan from Subud PNW, we should have the ability to pay for the repairs as they occur.

The committee hopes to repay the SPNW loan before the end of the year through a combination of rental income and member donations.

Building Rentals

iTrip booked 4 rentals in Spring Street Center during April. Income from all rentals is being held in escrow to pay for repairs. Due to continued limitations from the COVID-19 pandemic, there have been no booking for our halls during the same period.

Donations

Donations through April have been on average 30% lower than in 2020. We are now running a deficit and hope that members who have not donated previously will now consider joining those who do so already.

If you believe we can handle our expenses through member contributions, please consider this:

On average this year, donations have covered roughly one half of our expenses. The rest has been covered by our enterprise. Every dollar donated by a member is appreciated.

April Expenses

Our April PSE gas bill was in line with February’s, in spite of having 4 rentals.

Budget for 2021

Your committee is in the process of creating our budget for 2021.  Until we have a clearer picture of income and expenses, I am unable to finish this work. Once the committee has a clearer understanding of these, we will present a budget at a general meeting for your consideration.

Important! New name for donation checks to Subud Greater Seattle

Use only “Subud PNW – Seattle Center” on any future donations to our center.  Bank rules, recently changed, are delaying deposits.  Please be sure to change the “Pay To The Order Of” section of your handwritten or automatic withdrawn check from your account and use this name. If you intend to make your donation to the Region, please earmark your check Subud PNW.

Thanks for those who have setup monthly donations

Thanks to all our monthly donators who have a recurring donation sent from their bank.  You save on envelopes and stamps.  And, you don’t have to remind yourselves to write a check. These regular checks really help us meet our monthly commitments to the region and pay for our use of our facilities.

If you’d like to know how to set up a recurring donation to our group through your bank, please contact me.
